This very comprehensive one-day course is specifically designed for seafarers
An additional course for all new entrants to the industry
For all fishermen after gaining 6 months sea time experience
What to do in a real emergency at sea!
The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) requires sea survival training to be completed before going to sea for the first time and requires the other three courses to be completed within three months
For experienced fishermen – those who have at least two years of fishing experience – we have developed a number of voluntary short courses for fishermen who want to increase their skills and knowledge to levels above minimum legal requirements
Completion of these courses (with the addition of the Royal Yachting Association’s GMDSS Short Range Certificate for radio operators) make up the requirements for our Under 16.5m Skipper’s Certificate, which is accepted by the MCA for use on small commercial vessels
This course has been designed to meet industry management demand and the content has been adapted, revised and accepted by fishery management bodies throughout the UK
