BIM Enhanced Safety Training Course

Duration: One day

Cost of one day Enhanced Safety Training course including a Personal Floatation Device fitted with Personal Locator Beacon:

  • Vessels less than 15 metres in length (LOA): €155
  • Vessels 15 metres and greater in length: €190
  • Get a grant for the costs

Qualification: Those who have successfully completed the training are issued with an Enhanced Safety Training Card

Prerequisites: Applicants must have completed BIM’s Basic Safety Training Course

To improve safety at sea, all fishing vessel crew members are required (S.I 587 of 2001) to under go basic safety training


BIM Basic Safety Training

Next course scheduled:

The training consists of three elements:

  1. Personal Survival Techniques (STCW-95 certificate)
  2. Elementary First Aid (STCW-95 certificate
  3. Fire Prevention and Safety Awareness

Duration: Three days

Cost: €150.00

Qualification: Those who have successfully completed the training are issued with a Safety Training Card

To improve safety at sea all fishing vessels crew members are required (S.I 587 of 2001)


Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (3 Day) STCW-95

Duration: Three days

Cost: €650.00

Qualification: Marine Fire Fighting Certification issued by BIM.


Advanced Fire Fighting and Prevention (5 Day) STCW-95

Next course scheduled:

Duration: Five days

Cost: €950.00

Qualification: Marine Fire Fighting Certification issued by BIM.


Medical First Aid Aboard Ship STCW-95

Next course scheduled:

Duration: Three Days

Course cost: €225.00

Qualification: Certificate issued by BIM
